community serviceAs diabetic customers need to receive their critical care products on a recurring basis for life, the requirement to pay full retail out of pocket, complete and mail Medicare forms (which are in English) and wait to receive reimbursement by mail from Medicare represents a considerable burden. MEDirect Latino offers the Hispanic diabetic consumer the opportunity to call a toll-free number, answer questions from a Spanish-speaking customer service representative to determine eligibility, and receive on a quarterly basis direct to the customer's home a three-month supply of the diabetic care products prescribed by the customer's physician. MEDirect Latino contacts the customers' physician directly to confirm the products prescribed, completes the forms required for Part B providers, and receives the reimbursable amount directly from Medicare (typically within 7 to 14 days), billing the customer's supplemental insurance only for their 20% co-pay portion.
